Allan "Alfie" Langer is one of the most iconic figures in Australian rugby league history. Alfie rose to fame as a diminutive yet formidable halfback, defying his small stature to dominate the sport for over a decade. His career was marked by incredible achievements, including captaining the Brisbane Broncos to multiple premierships and leading Queensland to State of Origin victories. Alfie's impact extends beyond his playing career. He has been inducted into the Sport Australia Hall of Fame and is a member of the Order of Australia for his contributions to rugby league. His legacy continues to inspire new generations of players and fans alike. Today, Alfie remains involved in the sport as a coach and ambassador, ensuring his influence on rugby league endures.

Gary Belcher is a renowned Australian rugby league personality, celebrated both as a former player and current commentator. Belcher began his career with the Souths Logan Magpies in the Brisbane Rugby League, winning a grand final in 1985 under the coaching of Wayne Bennett.
He later joined the Canberra Raiders in the NSWRL Premiership, where he won consecutive grand finals in 1989 and 1990 alongside legendary players like Mal Meninga, Ricky Stuart, Laurie Daley, Brad Clyde and Steve Walters.
During his 8 year stint with Canberra he played fullback in 16 State of Origins for the mighty Maroons. Internationally, Badge went on two Kangaroo Tours, 1986 and 1990, and played for Australia in 15 Tests between 1986 and 1991, including a notable Ashes series victory against Great Britain in 1990.
After retiring from playing in 1993 due to injuries, Belcher transitioned into coaching and media work. He has worked as assistant coach with the Qld Maroons and Broncos as well as on-air gigs with Triple M, Channel 9, Fox Sports and SEN.

For the first time since 2003, Australia will head to England and defend its Ashes title in a three series test against Great Britain.

The 2025 Kangaroo Tour is set to reignite one of the most iconic rugby league rivalries, bringing the historic Ashes competition back to English soil.

This tour marks a revival of tradition, offering fans a chance to relive the history and passion of this classic competition. The Ashes series between Australia and England is considered the ultimate test in international rugby league, with a rich history dating back to 1908.

THE COUNTDOWN TO THE 2025 KANGAROO TOUR IS ON!

Welcome to London.

London’s a sprawling city at the centre of everything: art, history, culture—you name it. But what sets it apart from other major hubs are its distinct neighbourhoods, each with their own vibe. Spend an afternoon in Kensington or check out edgy Shoreditch for cool shops and street murals.
Proceed to your hotel for check-in. Here you will stay for the next three nights on a bed and breakfast basis.

This evening meet with your tour leaders and touring companions for some welcome drinks to celebrate the start of tour.

They will share unique insights and pre-match analysis on todays test match.

Today we hit the ground running attending the first Ashes Test at the iconic Wembley Stadium where the Kangaroos will defend the Ashes title.

Each tour participant will receive an Oyster Card providing a convenient way to navigate the public transport system around London. Take the tube to todays match!

TEST MATCH ONE

KANGAROOS v GREAT BRITAIN,WEMBLEY STADIUM, LONDON

Breakfast at the hotel.

Today the group will have an unforgettable visit of Lord’s Cricket Ground. The tour will take you into the heart of the history and tradition of this hallowed ground. Experience the famous Long Room walkway where players transition from the dressing rooms to the pitch, surrounded by portraits of cricket's greatest figures.

Discover the Ashes Urn, the first Men’s and Women’s Cricket World Cup trophies, and other iconic cricket artifacts. Get an intimate look at where cricket heroes prepare for their matches.
At the conclusion of your tour, pop into the Lord’s Tavern for some social time.
The remainder of the day is at leisure to further explore all that London has to offer. You may wish to see Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, the Churchill War Rooms or wander the South Bank where you will find restaurants and notable attractions including the London Eye which sits majestically alongside the Thames.

Today you set off from London to Bath via Oxford.

Visit Oxford, the City of Dreaming Spires. A city steeped in history and academia, being home to the world renowned University of Oxford. Oxford is famous for its stunning architecture including the iconic Radcliffe Camera and Christ Church College. You may wish to take a leisurely punt on the River Cherwell or browse the lively mix of shops or enjoy the traditional pubs where you can really soak up the atmosphere.

Continue on to Bath where you will check in at your hotel. Here you will stay for the next two nights on a bed and breakfast basis.

Designated by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, Bath is home to some of the most impressive architectural sights in the world such as the Royal Crescent, the Circus and Pulteney Bridge. At the heart of Bath city centre, next to Bath’s imposing Abbey are the Roman Baths, which give a fascinating insight into the original bathing complex and the great Roman temple of Sulis Minerva.

This morning there will be a walking tour of Bath.

You may like to take a walk along the Roman Walls, the most complete city walls in Britain, offering breathtaking views of the city's landmarks like Chester Castle and Chester Cathedral.

Today you will travel from Chester to Liverpool.

Upon arrival to Liverpool there will be a tour of Liverpool FC and Anfield Stadium.

After the match, board your coach and transfer back to your hotel.

Join Alfie & Badge for a post match drink at your hotel where they will debrief post match and share their insights to the game.

Today your host Alfie Langer will take you to Warrington Rugby League Club where he enjoyed a great season as captain of the Warrington Wolves taking the team to within one match of the Challenge Cup Final in 2000.

Alfie has arranged for the Warrington Old Boys to play a friendly match, followed up with casual drinks and dinner.

Today, farewell England and journey into Edinburgh, Scotland.

Edinburgh is nestled between the Firth of Forth and the Pentland Hills. It boasts a unique landscape dotted with volcanic hills, including the iconic Castle Rock, home to the majestic Edinburgh Castle. The city is divided into two distinct areas: the Old Town, with its medieval cobblestone streets, historic landmarks like the Royal Mile, and atmospheric closes; and the New Town, known for its elegant Georgian architecture and luxury shopping along Princes Street. Edinburgh is the perfect place to immerse yourself in the beauty and charm of Scotland

In the afternoon, check in at your hotel where you will stay for the next three nights on a bed and breakfast basis.

This evening you might like to head to the Royal Mile for a stroll and enjoy some of the friendly pubs and tucked away whiskey bars. The charm of the Royal Mile is illuminated as dusk settles over Edinburgh.

Today you will transfer to the train station to travel by rail back into England to the city of Leeds. 

Leeds, a city in the heart of West Yorkshire is home to Leeds United Football Club and most importantly, Headingley which is well known to cricket and rugby league fans alike. Leeds has evolved from an industrial hub to a contemporary city. Leeds buzzes with life mixing the old with the new with a great night scene.

In the afternoon, check into your hotel where you will stay for the next three nights on a bed and breakfast basis.

This morning travel by train to the town of York, where you will have free time to explore.

Located at the confluence of the rivers Ouse and Foss, York boasts Roman origins and is surrounded by well-preserved medieval walls, the most complete in England. The city's iconic landmarks include York Minster, one of the world's most spectacular Gothic cathedrals, and The Shambles, a picturesque medieval street reminiscent of Harry Potter's Diagon Alley. There are numerous museums, such as the National Railway Museum and the Jorvik Viking Centre, or enjoy the vibrant food scene and local markets. With its rich history, stunning architecture, and welcoming atmosphere, York represents some of the best of Britain

This afternoon you will transfer by coach to the third Ashes Test.
